Dr. Heather is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practioner and Doctor of Acupuncture. She stands at the forefront of holistic healthcare, blending ancient wisdom with modern day science. Born with a passion for healing, Dr. Heather’s mission is to ensure that the powerful benefits of traditional Chinese medicine are within reach for every person, enabling them to personally experience the transformative healing potential it holds.
Early Years and Education
Dr. Heather was raised on a farm in Ontario. These early years not only taught her the value of hard work but also a holistic and natural approach to living. After +18 years as a physiotherapy assistant working in neurorehabilitation, Dr. Heather’s thirst for knowledge and a natural affinity for holistic healing later led her to pursue a career in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2018, she achieved a significant milestone by graduating from the prestigious Canadian Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine. This marked the beginning of a transformative career dedicated to improving the lives of countless individuals.
A Dedication to Neuro Rehabilitation
Dr. Heather’s mission has found its focal point in the realm of neuro rehabilitation. Dr. Heather has not only treated individuals with neurological conditions but also actively contributed to local research initiatives focused on the application of acupuncture in stroke rehabilitation. These research contributions have illuminated new paths toward recovery and healing for stroke clients not only in Alberta but across Canada. While placing neuro rehabilitation at the forefront of her practice, Dr. Heather also runs a general practice and relishes at the opportunity to impart the age-old wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine to empower individuals of all backgrounds with the natural healing secrets it offers.
Jennifer started her journey in Physical Therapy and after injuring herself she quickly found first-hand the effectiveness of Acupuncture. She mentored under a Japanese acupuncturist for almost a year before enrolling in Acupuncture school.
Jennifer attended the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated in 2005. She also began working with Dr. Ma, a 27th generation Chinese Medicine Doctor. She was able to learn invaluable skills and even some Mandarin after working in China town with him for some time.
Initially after graduation, Jennifer began her career by working in a sports clinic with professional athletes and Olympians. She gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in treating sports injuries and pain conditions.
Jennifer loves to study and grow as practitioner. She has taken a large number of specialized courses over the years in gynecology, infertility and obstetrics (Acupuncture for pregnancy) as well as pediatric courses. She enjoys educating patients and preventing problems with infertility, fibroids, and endometriosis. She treats conditions from PMS to menopause.
In 2014, Jennifer took a neuro Acupuncture course specializing in in brain dysfunctions. Since she has continued studying Neurology in depth and even teaching other practitioners. She has learned focused treatments on concussions, hearing loss, tinnitus, loss of smell, post-Covid problems, macular degeneration, ADHD, depression, anxiety, neuropathy, nerve and spinal cord injuries.
Jennifer loves being active in our community and giving educational talks or seminars, getting out to the mountains, hiking, rock climbing, running and swimming. Jennifer is happy to be giving back to Calgary as a community and looks forward to helping you reach new heights of wellness!
